Daya Meets Shreya… But Where’s the Story? CID 2 Fans Demand Answers!

Spread the love

When the favorite couple of CID Daya and Inspector Shreya finally return together again in CID 2, fans tuned in with baited breath… before months of pain, only to be led to heartbreak seconds later. What turned into a nostalgic thrill ride was reduced to back-to-back disappointments of aggravation.

After initially being introduced with Daya in Episode 49 with her tiny daughter a moment many called “emotional gold.” In Episode 50 they surprise us with Shreya for a whole minute, then followed by a wave of backlash. Fans blasted the makers of the show with everyone feeling it was a blatant TRP bait tactic —for messing with viewers’ emotions to artificially bump ratings .

“Makers Should Clarify”

On Twitter:

“Makers should at least clarify if Shreya will join CID or not… we literally don’t even know about her husband!”

Reddit users chimed in just as loudly:

There was no problem with Shreya coming back to the show … the way that they played the whole situation is horrible

Many tsk tsk’d at the abrupt “family outings” with Daya and Shreya’s daughter as unrealistic—and then it went further with being “distasteful,” especially since Shreya’s marital status has not been resolved .

CID 2 relies heavily on nostalgia, but it’s TRP ratings (hovering around 0.8)—lower than Season 1 peak— are under pressure to do better . Fans argue that small cameos take away the excitement of building on legacy characters unless they get a role for real minutes .

There are increasingly louder calls for the return of other favorites—like Dr. Sarika—and for much clearer storytelling. Whether Shreya is coming back for good or just a cameo, the audience wants to know—as they were already clear about before. Who is Shreya’s husband? Is she divorced? Will she have a role in the series or vanish again?

This “blink-and-you-miss-it” reunion may have got the next CEO sighted, but providing little substance and no context for the decision just boosts the frustration. Fans united: if you are going to reunite such iconic characters, invest in them with depth, time on screen—and answers.
